It was pitch black outside the porthole, and the wing navigation lights flickered warmly and incessantly in the silent night sky. At this moment, I am flying over the Arctic Circle towards my homeland, and soon I will be embraced in the arms of my great country.

A homeland that is already three years away and as far away as the ends of the earth. As I approached my homeland, my heart became more and more timid, and unconsciously tears welled up in my eyes.

Under the leadership of the Chinese Communist Party, my motherland is flourishing, and without a strong motherland, I would not have the freedom that I have today. The events of the past flashed back to me as if they had happened a long time ago, but they were still vivid in my mind. The last 1028 days have been filled with thoughts that are difficult to choose from, wandering day and night, difficult to describe even in a million words, facing mountains and rivers again and again, not knowing where to go.

"If you have never cried in the middle of the night, you can't talk about life. The more I fell into the abyss again and again, the more I was thrown into the darkness of the night, the more I was tossed about, the more deeply it was imprinted on my mind: tears and complaints are not the answer to sorrow, repeated sorrow is not the way out of the mire. From this hazy state to the sun.

There are always dangerous winds and waves, but we must face them head on. There are detours and detours, but in the end we anchor, berth and anchor.

I have run and fallen more times than I can count, but the more I run, the stronger I feel; I have been out and back more times than I can count, and now I am in tears as I return to my homeland.

Among the thousands of lights, there is one lamp that warms me, and among the stars of the galaxy, there is one star that gives me hope, one star that inspires me, one star that I am grateful for.

We pray for peace, we are lucky to be born in a time of peace, we praise our great motherland, we are thankful to be born in a great country.

Growing up in the era of reform and opening up, I have seen and experienced with my own eyes how great China and the Chinese people are under the leadership of the Communist Party(CPC), and how all our compatriots have worked hard for decades to make our country prosperous and strong, and how our people are moving towards common prosperity and making great contributions to the peace and development of the world.

I thank my dear motherland, my Party and my Government. It is that glorious red of China that has lit the fire of loyalty and trust in my heart, illuminated the darkest moments of my life and guided me on the long journey home.

My dear family, thank you for sharing the wind and rain with me for so long, for watching over me at all times, for giving me comfort in all my joys and sorrows. It was you who accompanied me on the hills and gently guided me through the bushes and thorns with your cool and calm guard.

Thanks to my dear partner, I have had the romance of rubbing shoulders, the purity of giving my all, the audacity of defiance and, looking back, the love of still waters and the responsibility of all thunder.

Dear colleagues, despite the long periods of separation, your patience and sincere encouragement allowed us to stay in the same boat through all the storms and difficulties.

I would like to express my gratitude to all of you who care for me, even though we have never met. Your deep love, your affectionate greetings and your heartfelt blessings are as beautiful as a rainbow in the sky on a bumpy road.

In the middle of the night, I dreamt of a bright moon, a bubbling spring, and a nostalgia that filled my heart. It was always there in my heart, even when I was imprisoned alone in a foreign country for three years. By the time I boarded the plane in the autumn wind, Vancouver was already in need of warm clothes. I'm looking forward to a year of beautiful scenery and enjoying the colours of orange, yellow and green again.

From the bottom of my heart, I congratulate you on the founding day of our country. The road back to the motherland is a winding and undulating one, but it is the way back to the warmest home in the world.
